NDIS Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology

Our Exercise Physiologists are experts in supporting you to achieve your physical goals. Whether it is improving your ability to move around your home, access your community or get back to work or into hobbies. Our job is to listen and to understand what you need, create a plan with you and support you get to where you want to be.

Exercise Physiology aims to incorporate exercise and activity to reach a participant’s functional goals. A tailored program will be developed for the participant to ensure that they remain safe, enjoying the activities and most importantly find the exercises challenging enough to build ability.

Exercise and Plan Provision

Once you have met with one of our EPs, the next step is to develop your individualised exercise plan. This will aim to challenge an individual whilst remaining safe and enjoyable where able. The EP will discuss the options with the individual, and determine if the draft plan needs any adjustment. The exercise plan will also vary depending on the setting chosen and equipment available.

Once an exercise plan is in place, the EP will continue to work with the individual to monitor correct and safe completion, technique and adjusting the plan where necessary. Once a consistent routine has been set, the EP may opt to progressively reduce their engagement to give more independence and autonomy to the individual. EP will often be an appropriate fit if you are looking to improve:

  • Fitness
  • Reduce pain
  • Improve function
  • Improve strength and conditioning, to then improve completion of daily tasks
  • Facilitate increased social and community engagement
  • Setting a regular healthy routine.
